Derby City Council has launched the tender process for construction of its £20m Multi-Sports Arena project.
With Mace already in the seat as project manager, a contract notice has now been published in the EU Official Journal for a main contractor to take on construction.
The 5,000 capacity three-storey arena is primarily designed as a velodrome but will be adaptable for a range of sports and events. The location is next to Derby County FC’s Pride Park stadium.
The council wants construction to start in May 2012 and complete by March 2014.
