Kent County Council prepares £400m framework

Kent County Council is preparing to draw up a panel of 15 building contractors to share in a workload worth up to £400m over four years.

The council’s principal contractors framework is divided into two lots: one for works up to £750,000 in value and one for works costing more than £750,000 but less than £6.5m.

Work is expected to consist of new builds, extensions, refurbishments and alterations to existing schools. However any type of building work to any property including housing, and associated construction services such as hard or soft landscaping is included. Fire, police and health service properties may also be part of the remit.

Exclusively civil engineering works such as highways, major bridges or coastal works will not be included.
