Ogilvie picked for £11m student housing scheme

Ogilvie Construction has broken ground on an £11m project to build an eight-storey student accommodation building in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh.

Arran House, as it is to be called, is scheduled for completion in 2015, providing 302 student apartments of varying sizes, along with retail space on the ground floor.

Ogilvie will also complete infrastructure works and a new junction for the Western Approach Road, one of the main routes into Edinburgh.

The contract was awarded to Ogilvie by the Student Housing Company, which manages purpose-built student accommodation across the UK.

Ogilvie Construction managing director Donald MacDonald said: “The building will be constructed to the highest standards, providing first class living conditions close to the university and all key amenities.”
