The first new office of the newly merged engineering firms WSP and Parsons Brinckerhoff has opened in Bristol.
Coming together of the two companies’ teams in the city marks a major milestone for the merger in the UK, WSP said.
WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff has 32,000 people in around 500 offices across 39 countries, but Bristol becomes the first UK city where the two businesses operate from the same office.
The Bristol office will have around 260 staff.
WSP bought Parsons Brinckerhoff from Balfour Beatty last year for £820m, representing a Canadian-US tie-up. Parsons Brinckerhoff is originally an American firm; WSP is Canadian, since it was acquired by Genivar in 2012. Last year Genivar rebranded to adopt the WSP name for itself.
