JF Finnegan builds Edinburgh hotel

JF Finnegan has been awarded an £8.5m contract to construct a hotel in Edinburgh.

The seven-storey is being built on a former office block site at Gardener’s Crescent in the centre of Edinburgh. The client is London-based Croydon Hotels, which will operate the 110-room hotel under the Accor Mercure brand.

Moving quickly, JF Finnegan has already begun work on the concrete substructure, which is the first phase of a 60-week contract that completes at the end of March 2015.

JF Finnegan head of pre-construction Dawa Singh said; “Drawing on our previous hotel experience, we were able to respond swiftly to the initial enquiry in November in order to finalise contracts over the festive period and commence work on site in Edinburgh in recent weeks. We are delighted to be working with a London-based client on an Edinburgh project, further demonstrating our ability to work UK-wide from our Sheffield headquarters.”
