Hampshire prepares £400m schools framework

Hampshire County Council is putting together a framework for construction contractors for work that could total as much as £400m over the four-year term.

This intermediate framework will be for projects valued in the range of £500,000 to £4m, although most are expected to be between £1.5m and £3m.

It is envisaged that 12 contractors will be selected.

Most of the jobs will be extensions, refurbishments and alterations to existing schools, but it could extend to any type of building work to any property, including fire, police and health service properties.

Pure civil engineering works, such as highways, bridges or coastal works, will not be included.
